The Apple computer and the iPhone, as is logical, they understand each other perfectly, but the opposite happens when we connect mobile to the Mac with Android operating system. In this case, the Brilliant computer does not directly recognize the phone and we have to find an alternative method if we want to transfer the photos of the mobile to the Mac (or any other file) to a program like Android File Transfer.

This program is as simple as it is able to replicate what happens on the iPhone but within the Android ecosystem. That is, just install the program, which you can download from this page, the app will start automatically showing all the files of your Android mobile on the Mac, allowing you to delete them, copy them, or make any backup.

When you connect your Mac’s USB cable to your computer, a warning on Android will ask you if you want to simply charge your phone or transfer files. When choosing this option it is likely that we should “connect” the USB cable to the phone to prevent Android File Transfer from displaying error messages and, after a few seconds, display a window similar to this on Mac:

Android File Transfer lets you view the contents of the mobile as if it were an external disk. You can locate the different folders of the apps installed on your phone in the interface of the program and when it comes to transferring files from Android to Mac, these would be the most important things to know:

  • Download : It is the folder where all the downloads that you make on your mobile are stored.
  • Music : the folder where you can host music to listen to it from your favorite Android player .
  • DCIM : the section of the mobile camera. From here you can download photos and videos from your Android mobile to the Mac.
  • WhatsApp: the folder to pass all the files received by WhatsApp (photos, videos, documents, Gifs …) to the computer. Just like this folder, you will find in Android File Transfer those of Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

If when accessing a folder you see that the computer takes time to react, have patience, it is normal, it will take more time for more space occupied within it.
